Dr. Wei JIE has been actively involved in the area of Parallel and
Distributed Computing for many years, and published over forty papers in
international journals and conferences. His current research interests
include Parallel and Distributed Computing
technologies (Grid/Cloud Computing, Cluster Computing, High Performance
Computing, Web Services, Internet technologies, etc) and
applications, Computing Security technologies (Shibboleth, Grid security, etc), Parallel and Distributed Programming,
Tools and Environments, Parallel and Distributed Algorithms,
Architectures, Performance Modelling and Evaluation, Multi-disciplinary research like e-Science,
e-Social Science, e-Research and so on.
Dr Wei JIE is currently a Senior Lecturer at School of Computing, University of West London, UK. Prior to this, he was a Senior Researcher at the University of Manchester (UK, Feb 2007 - Aug 2009), and a Senior Research Engineer at the Institute of High Performance Computing (Singapore, Jan 2001 - Jan 2007). He
received his B.Eng and M.Eng in Computer Science from Beijing
University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (China) in 1993 and 1996,
respectively. In 2002 he was awarded PhD in Computer Engineering from
Nanyang Technological University (Singapore).
